To apply for the Greater Steps Scholars Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Applicants attending college, vocation or technical school for the first time must not be over 21 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made.
Applicants already attending or who have previously attended a college, vocational or technical school must not be over 24 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made.
Greater Steps Scholars staff, board, and advisory share a common vision for the future and that is to open the doors of opportunity to low-income youth in our community. All firmly believe Greater Steps Scholars serves as a vehicle of hope for young people with the desire to achieve, but who lack adequate financial means.
Only complete scholarship applications, that include all of the following items, will be submitted to the Selection Committee for review:

Scholarships will range from $1,500 to $4,000.
Scholarships are paid directly to the recipient’s school and are designated for tuition, required fees, books and supplies. Scholarships are awarded for one year only, but renewal is possible if funds are available and satisfactory academic progress is maintained.
Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age or national origin.
