Become a Career Mentor

Volunteers will be matched with a Scholar who shares his/her professional interests to complete one project-based career activity per month over the course of the academic year. All opportunities can be conducted remotely or in-person. The time commitment varies slightly by mentor pair and topic covered, but 2-4 hours/month is typical. Some topics typically covered in mentoring sessions are:

Graduate School Exploration

Host an Information Interview

A volunteer can clarify the steps needed for job success by hosting a 30-40 minute conversation, or informational interview, covering the employee’s occupational field, career journey, and professional advice. Volunteers determine how many students they want to work with.
