Greater Steps Scholars will host its Annual Believers & Achievers Gala, on May 3, 2024. We are excited to reunite with our friends and supporters for the 2024 Gala. Last year’s Gala in honor of our 40th Anniversary hosted over 250 guests and raised nearly $130,000 for Greater Steps Scholars to help us bridge the economic gap in Charlotte through education. Guests will have the opportunity to hear from current student recipients and alumni.
Greater Steps Scholars founder, John T. Crawford, had a vision to break the cycle of poverty and create economic opportunities and a brighter future for Charlotte’s young people through education. Greater Steps Scholars’ mission is to provide each child living in our public or subsidized housing with an opportunity and expectation of a college education. We have worked to disrupt the cycle of poverty for 1,000 students over the last 40 years through providing scholarships, one-on-one mentor support, workshops that teach valuable career, financial and life skills, and exposure to potential internship and career opportunities.
