One student in each class will be recognized as the student of the year.

A student of the year will be recognized for each four academic years. The awards will be presented during the Awards Day Programs. No student shall receive the student of the year recognition more than twice during his or her four-year academic career, or once if in a two-year program. No student shall be recognized for two consecutive years.

 

Minimum Eligibility
  • Must be a participant in the Greater Steps Scholars Program
  • Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.5 on a 40 scale at the end of the academic year.
Other Considerations
  • Academic progress and improvement
  • Cooperation and participation with Greater Steps Program – staff, committees, and activities
  • Extracurricular activities on campus as well as in the community
  • Demonstrated leadership
