The Samuel Lerner Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2002 to provide undergraduate scholarships to low income students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Initially, the fund will award scholarships to recipients of the Greater Steps Scholars Program and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Scholarship Incentive Program/Communities in Schools ThinkCOLLEGE® Scholarship Fund.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Recipients must also receive scholarship support from the Greater Steps Scholars Program or the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Scholarship Incentive Program/Communities in Schools Think COLLEGE® Scholarship Fund;
• Recipients must be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university;
• Recipients must have earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
• Recipients must demonstrate unmet financial need; and
• Recipients must be college sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
